Q1 / How can I apply to work in the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA)?

You can apply to work in the corporation​ by registering as a job seeker in the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and apply for work in one of the jobs appropriate to your educational qualification available in the corporation​ and announced on the ministry's website.


Q2 / What is the expected time to communicate with me by the Employment and Planning section in the organization after I have applied for work at the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau?

You will be contacted as soon as your employment application is received by the concerned Ministry. The evaluating and assessing procedures for your CV will be initiated, and you will be contacted to complete the necessary documents.


Q3 / How can I know that my application to join the Corporation has been rejected?

You will receive a text message from the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, stating that you are not suitable to work in the Corporation with a valid reason and an explanation to the rejection.


Q4 / If the employment application is initially accepted, what is the expected time to attend the personal interview at the Corporation ?

If your employment application is initially accepted at the Corporation, a personal interview will be arranged for you within a week of completing the necessary documents.


Q5 / What is the expected time to receive the feedback of the personal interview that was held at the Corporation ?

You will be notified of the outcome of your interview within a week to 10 days, and in the event that you do not pass the interview, you will receive a text message stating that you are not accepted into the institution from the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau with a valid reason and an explanation to the rejection.


Q6 / Is it possible to negotiate the job offer submitted by Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation?

Since job offers, job grades and salaries details are prepared and determined according to the Human Resources Law, job offers are final and cannot be negotiated by the applicant to work in the Corporation.


Q7 / What is the stage following the approval of the job offer by the applicant?

The necessary and final approvals will be raised before you are informed of your official acceptance into the Corporation.


Q8 / In the event of final approval for my employment in the Corporation, what is the expected period for me to start work?

Your start date will be determined as soon as you receive your medical examination and finalize the process with the Criminal Evidence and information Department, and complete the required procedures.


Q9 / Can an employee working in another government / private entity apply to work at Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA​)?

Based on the decision of His Excellency the Prime Minister, the priority for employment is for unemployed Qatari candidates who are registered as job seekers in the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau​.


Q10 / What is the length of the probationary period that the new employee spends after joining the work?

The newly appointed employee at the Corporation has ​a 3-months’ probation period, renewable for a similar period according to the Civil Human Resources Law, and if he does not pass the probation period successfully, his services will be ​terminated.
