In line with its corporate objective to attract, develop and retain a high-performing workforce and support Qatarisation, Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation’s (KAHRAMAA) Qatarization, Training & Development section of the Human Resource department yesterday organized an interactive session for its first time grouping of Qatari female Engineers aiming enhancement of the professional & leadership skills, confidence building, development of strategic thinking, and improving productivity among others.
The four- hour session, organized by HR Qatarization, Training & Development Section,
was conducted by Eng. Bashayar I. Al- Awwad, a globally renowned figure who is the Vice President of World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Chairwoman of WFEO’s ‘Women in Engineering’ Standing Committee. The event was attended by a large number of Qatari female engineers of various departments. Before the commencement of the session, a number of KAHRAMAA’s Directors and Managers, also addressed the Engineers about the session.
KAHRAMAA fosters a strategy aiming at boosting up employees' skills and contributing to their progress strides in line with the corporate objectives of the organization. The focus of the program was to support female engineers in creating an environment where they feel supported and encouraged in their personality development endeavors enabling simultaneously to deliver high-quality outputs within a healthy work environment.
The session has been chalked out in such a way that it gets shaped in training modules considering Engineers’ interests and their expectations and actual needs. Measures like accelerated career development plans, learning and development opportunities and cross-functional mobility are the prominent human development program strategies used by KAHRAMAA for its quality professional growth.
Speaking on the program, KAHRAMAA’s Corporate Services Director, Eng. Nasser Al- Mohannadi said that KAHRAMAA has set out a number of plans to inculcate the culture of excellence and continuous professional and personal development for its Qatari talents and ensure the application of the standards of corporate excellence in all operations and at all organizational levels."
