Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHARAMAA” has signed a Tripartite Power Synergy Agreement with Qatar Shell GTL Limited, and Gasal to Transfer clean electrical power on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at KAHRAMAA Main Building.  

The agreement has been signed by H.E. Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, KAHRAMAA President, Mr. Andrew Faulkner, Managing Director and EVP Qatar Shell, and Mr. Ahmed Darwish, Chief Executive Officer of Gasal in presence of officials from the three parties. 

The agreement is meant to transfer the clean electrical power produced from steam, via KAHRAMAA’s network, from Qatar Sell to Gasal - Ras Laffan to produce oxygen which will contribute in reducing the harmful carbon emissions by 100,000 tons annually. 

This agreement comes within KAHRAMAA’s efforts, through the National Program for Conservation & Energy Efficiency “Tarsheed” to reduce harmful carbon emissions to achieve environmental sustainability in accordance to Qatar Vision 2030. In 2018, Tarsheed has implemented several successful initiatives and projects that resulted in reducing 3.6 million tons of the carbon emissions.
