The role holder is responsible for supervising the execution of electricall maintenance projects for all Kahramaa’s water stations and networks and ensuring safety operations of all electrical and associated control equipment. The role holder is also responsible for planning activities related to preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment in Kahramaa’s water stations and networks, in compliance with Kahramaa’s Maintenance Code of Practice.
Assists Senior Engineer – Electro-mechanical, in devising strategies and plans aimed at planned, preventive and corrective maintenance of all electrical and associated control equipment in Kahramaa’s water stations and networks
Participates in planning new projects or upgrading works of electrical equipment in different Kahramaa’s water stations and networks, in order to ensure effective maintenance of electrical equipment
Prepares and maintains an electrical maintenance planning system and ensures entry of all relevant electrical/mechanical maintenance data into the system
Studies electrical schematic and control drawings, in order to provide expertise in troubleshooting/pre-empting abnormalities arising in Kahramaa’s water stations and networks.
Manages O&M manuals related to water stations and maintains them updated for any future modifications/maintenance work
Identifies and reports electrical operating variances outside the design limits and discusses operational problems and optimizations with concerned planning departments
Participates in preparing scope of work, specifications, budgets, cost-estimates and evaluation criteria for electrical maintenance works which need to be outsourced to third parties, in accordance with Kahramaa’s Code of Practice
Participates in the technical evaluation of bids received from vendors from an Electrical Engineering perspective and ensures that the equipment, proposals, specifications and capabilities proposed by vendors are compliant on requisite specifications
Supervises the monitoring of electrical maintenance work undertaken by consultants and contractors on a regular basis, ensuring the documented scope of work is executed, safety regulations are followed, and quality of installation and workmanship, is line with corporate standards and contracted specifications
Provides guidance and technical expertise in electrical engineering field on major projects, as and when required by internal departments or consultants
Liaises with management in providing scope of work and cost estimates for the Capital Improvement Program
Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and instructed by higher management
Acts as technical advisor for other departments on engineering matters related to the field
Manages & supervises all electrical related outsourced manpower, maintenance contracts and work services as well as TA water projects
Supervises and reviews all technical reports, pertaining to electrical/mechanical maintenance, in a timely manner, as applicable to the role
Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Maintenance Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations.
