Supervisor (Smart Grid Application)

Description:

The role holder is responsible for the overall data management functionality and the validity of the data. This includes developing of standardized regular reports clearing issues that require human intervention.  The role holder is also responsible for the distribution of reports, as appropriate and creation of analytical reports in conjunction with other departments e.g. network planning and load projection.

Overseas team of operators performing meter reading schedule, ensuring correct data handling and meter/device management
Communicates business requirements to Senior Engineer Technical Support (AMI)
Works with Senior Engineer and Head of Meter to establish schedule and reports progress, risks and issues
Writes Project Deliverables Bid Specifications, Request for Proposals (RFP's), Project Definitions (PD's), and Request for Awards for complex Telecommunications, IT hardware, software and related services
Provides further pre-tendering and post-award technical support for projects
Assist in reviewing proposals and solution presentations
Configures, tests, and maintains network equipment and related services
Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves operation problems
Participates in solution reviews with team and recommends future needs for operation
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
Fully operates AMI system application environment and provides AMI/AMR operational support
Handles complex tasks relating to AMI operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations
Reports AMI platform Healthiness and best Utilization
Interfaces with System Test, Quality and Compliance to ensure the documentation meets the needs to efficiently accomplish those tasks
Monitors operating system patches and software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration, data migration and system integration
Mentors Programmers on how to effectively communicate with internal issues with SLA to provide acceptable services and assimilating business requirements
Provides training and education to other department personnel
Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Installation Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

More than 8 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 3+ years supervisory experience
