The role holder is responsible for ensuring effective maintenance of the MDM system through the design of technical solutions/ applications that will help customers receive prompt resolutions to their queries as well as receive quick access to information they need. The role holder is also responsible for maintaining the AMI system network environment.
Participates in effective management of the MDM (Meter Data Management) system by understanding customers’ requests and requirements, defining the problem and thus proposing solutions
Develops and designs flowcharts, layouts and diagrams keeping in view system specifications and standards of programming
Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying system flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas and following the software development lifecycle
Determines technical feasibility of new customer requirements with regards meter installation/ repair or maintenance and assists System Administrator (AMI) in validating proposed technical solutions
Determines suitable functionality, interface, application programming language and technology platforms to be used for creating an application that meets customer needs, in collaboration with System Administrator (AMI)
Participates in conduct of system analysis and recommends changes in the existing policies and procedures, in order to improve operations within the unit
Broadens knowledge base by studying about state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment
Keeps abreast with system development life cycle methodologies, development methodologies and version control
Participates in routine maintenance work activities, participates in system testing as well as performs operating system patches, software upgrades, hardware configuration, data migration and system integration
Participates in configuration, testing and maintenance activities for LAN/ WAN equipment and related services
Provides information by collecting, analysing and summarizing development and service issues
Participates in the maintenance of Automated Metering Instruction system network environment
Works with the Information Technology team with regards development and maintenance of system databases to extract, cleanse, transform, load and maintain data
Generates incident reports for AMI platform and submit them to Head of Meter
Maintains confidentiality of all meter data, thereby safekeeping and protecting information in the database
Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Meter Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
