The role holder is responsible for assisting Engineer - Telecom (AMI) in conduct of effective testing, maintenance and repair works for ensuring full functionality of the telecom equipment utilized within the Automated Metering Instructions (AMI) telecommunication system.
Assists Engineer – Telecom (AMI) in ensuring effective functioning of the telecom media utilized throughout the telecom network, basis customer queries or complaints with regards functioning of their telecom equipment
Tests spare parts of the telecommunication equipment, detects faults and issues within the telecommunication equipment and conducts repair works to ensure full functionality of the equipment utilized within the telecommunication network
Participates in conduct of tests and repair works for the fiber optics equipment using hand held terminals
Checks and evaluates the power budget as well as attenuation of fiber optical telecom equipment
Conducts testing of General Packet Radio Service equipment utilized within the telecommunication network
Assists in conduct of digital telecom equipment (Power Line Carrier) testing using a PC and a proprietary software
Tests circuits and components of malfunctioning telecommunications equipment to isolate sources of malfunctions using test meters, circuit diagrams and other hand tools
Assists in conduct of analogue telecom equipment (Power Line Carrier equipment) testing using selective level meter and selective level oscillator to check various levels of AF, IF and RF frequencies for both transmitters and receivers
Tests repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to ensure that it functions properly and conforms to specifications, using test equipment and observation
Participates in and assists Engineer – Telecom (AMI) in effective conduct of preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure full functionality of the telecom equipment
Adjusts or modifies equipment to enhance equipment performance or to respond to customer requests
Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Meter Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
