The role holder is responsible to assist Senior Engineer – Connection in administering and handling issues related to field connection by advising and reporting on all matters related to consumer supply, material pre-qualification criteria, technical specifications, contracts, budgetary proposals, and road openings etc., in line with standard operating procedures and established guidelines.

Some Core Responsibilities:

Participates in the Field Connection Section’s annual budgeting, by providing previous expenses and budgets related to various activities of the section including procurement of new material, Secondary Network Maintenance, extension / replacement / looping projects, service connection, reinstatement, and tanker supplies

Liaises with Quality Assurance and Control Section, to monitor daily water samples distributed and enhances sample collection and flushing procedures, in order to provide quality potable water to customers

Coordinates with Water Network Planning Department on conducting, maintaining optimal pressure in the system and studying hydraulic modelling and simulations

Participates in evaluating Kahramaa’s material consumption and alerts material vendors in case of any new service connections, looping distribution mains etc., in order to ensure timely procurement of requisite materials

Assists Senior Engineer – Connection in the preparation of tenders related to material procurement, call off agreements for service connections, reinstatement, secondary network maintenance and material supply for water distribution projects

Coordinates with Legal, Internal Audit and Finance Departments, evaluates commercial bids, and recommends “General Tenders Committee” in the selection of suitable bid 

Coordinates with relevant departments and organizes post-award kick off meetings with selected contractors, in order to discuss expectations from the project and timelines of each project phase

Monitors the connection work undertaken by consultants and contractors on a regular basis, ensuring the documented scope of work is executed, safety regulations are followed, and quality of installation and workmanship, is line with corporate standards and contracted specifications
