The role holder is responsible to plan, direct and develop strategies and plans for Kahramaa’s secondary projects related to distribution networks. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring that all safety procedures are followed during project implementation, in compliance with established standards and best practices.
Ensures implementation of strategies and plans for Kahramaa’s secondary distribution network construction, based on the prescribed specifications and project design, ensuring balance between the immediate project needs and the long term goals of the Water Projects Department
Supervises project implementation of minor, medium and major size secondary water projects of distribution networks, and controls the implementation of project execution activities on site
Manages, reviews, checks and/or prepares drawings for distribution network projects, and ensures compliance with all relevant specifications and standards
Ensures that established project scheduling tools and procedures are in order and shared with subordinates and consultants working on the implementation of various activities of the project
Monitors distribution network construction site activities to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters
Coordinates with relevant departments in troubleshooting and analysing root causes of faults in distribution projects, if any, in order to minimize breakdown time of equipment
Oversees distribution network construction activities, and provides technical expertise, to resolve issues, if any
Ensures that all cost reduction opportunities are pursued and leveraged in the secondary water projects of distribution, as appropriate
Manages all documentation related to construction of Kahramaa’s secondary water projects of distribution networks and ensures these are well managed, for easy access, when required
Drive and manage negotiation and resolution of any disputes with contractors regarding payments and or/claims, when necessary
Attends factory acceptance tests
Attends and witnesses material production test and inspection at manufactures
Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Secondary Projects Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
