Description:
The role holder is responsible for ensuring maintenance of fire equipment and systems utilised by Kahramaa’s Maintenance Section for protecting Kahramaa assets and premises from accidents and hazards and ensuring personnel and assets safety.
·Supports the Senior Engineer – Fire Systems in the implementation of comprehensive work programs to ensure maintenance of the Fire Protection & Fire Fighting Equipment and Systems
·Ensures compliance with Fire Safety Systems standards through execution of regular auditing and inspection programs to monitor the effectiveness with which the Fire Protection & Fire Fighting equipment and systems are functioning, in accordance with the Kahramaa strategic defence plan and threat risk assessment to ensure their effective maintenance, as per requirement
·Oversees conduct of inspections to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with Kahramaa code of practice and also ensure that they are well maintained
·Diagnoses malfunctioning Fire Systems, equipment, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
·Oversees troubleshooting of Fire System problems or resolves queries that arise during maintenance and repair of fire fighting equipment/systems and provides relevant advice to concerned personnel on protecting the assets/premises on Kahramaa and control unforeseen damages
·Assists Senior Engineer – Fire Systems in preparation of purchasing specifications for Fire Equipment/Systems/Supplies to ensure the specifications are drawn properly to meet the Section’s needs
·Supervises conduct of periodic maintenance checks of all equipment as per schedule
·Supports Senior Engineer – Fire Systems in promoting Fire and Safety consciousness
·Prepares Quarterly and Annual Progress/Status Reports with regards work activities conducted by the Fire Systems Unit, recommends necessary improvements in the maintenance and repair work processes and submits to higher authorities in the Maintenance Section for approval
·Prepares annual maintenance budget
·Prepares tender contract documents and scope of works, tender technical evaluation and new project commissioning related to fire system maintenance
·Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
·Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Facilities Management Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
· Certifications in Fire Protection and Safety is preferred
