The role holder is responsible for creating dynamic, optimized database web applications for Kahramaa. The role holder is also responsible for the implementation of software projects and the development of custom web/database applications.
· Creates Web-based applications and pages as required and assist members of the Kahramaa staff with questions about HTML, XML, ASP coding, image manipulation, and other web-related technology issues
·Works on integration projects which use ASP, ASP.NET, Java, J2EE, IBM MQSeries and/or other middleware with JD Edwards, ME-Exchange, MS Active directory, Oracle database 9i and XML
· Works on special Web programming and/or Oracle database projects as directed by the Head of System Development
· Designs, builds, and maintains web sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media
· Develops web site maps, application models, image templates, or page templates that meet project goals, user needs, or industry standards
·Provides clear, detailed descriptions of web site specifications such as product features, activities, software, communication protocols, programming languages, and operating systems software and hardware
· Monitors security system performance logs to identify problems and notify security specialists when problems occur
· Supports web application programming needs including code review and optimization for programming languages
· Supports the implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to basic web design and style
· Communicates with Network personnel or web site hosting agencies to address hardware or software issues affecting web sites
· Designs and implements web site security measures such as firewalls or message encryption
· Performs web site tests according to planned schedules, or after any web site or product revisions
· Researches, documents, rates and selects alternatives for web architecture or technologies
· Documents technical factors such as server load, bandwidth, database performance, and browser and device types
· Communicates with network personnel or web site hosting agencies to address hardware or software issues affecting web sites
· Installs and configures hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) servers and associated operating systems
· Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
