Description:
The role holder is responsible for effective maintenance of water transmission and distribution networks, in order to continually support customers with purified water services, by planning activities related to preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment in reservoirs, pumping & chlorination stations, reverse osmosis, water towers and well fields, in compliance with Kahramaa’s Maintenance Code of Practice.
Some Core Responsibilities:
Assists Head of Maintenance and Emergency in the formulation of all maintenance strategies and plans aimed at preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, instrument equipment and civil structures in reservoirs, pumping & chlorination stations, reverse osmosis, water towers, well fields and pipelines
Supports Head of Maintenance and Emergency in preparing all budgeting requirements for reservoirs, pumping & chlorination stations, reverse osmosis, water towers, well fields and pipelines
Proposes, and plans upgrading works of electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment in different Kahramaa’s water reservoirs located in Doha and its suburbs
Develops material standards, equipment specifications and operating procedures for all Kahramaa’s water networks maintenance works
Coordinates with different teams within the section, and provides technical expertise in matters related to troubleshooting of maintenance issues
Supervises the testing and commissioning of new maintenance projects
Prepares scope of work, specifications, budgets, cost-estimates and evaluation criteria for maintenance works which need to be outsourced to third parties, in accordance with Kahramaa’s Code of Practice
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, post-graduate certification / degree preferred
More than 10 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 4+ years of supervisory experience preferably in the maintenance of water networks
