Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation
“KAHRAMAA” recently held its quarterly Corporate Performance Review meeting (CPR)
to review the performance of its departments during the first quarter of 2018.
H.E. Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, KAHRAMAA President chaired the meeting in
the presence and participation of KAHRAMAA Directors, Managers, and Head of
Sections.
This meeting aimed to follow up, evaluate the
performance, review the work progress against the approved plans as well as
enhance the Corporation values
The meeting reviewed the performance reports of
various departments, their progress, the workflow of projects carried out, challenges
encountered as well as the mechanisms and strategies they adopted to prevent
them, in order to ensure the progress of work in accordance with the approved
agenda and programs, especially under the unjust blockade imposed on the
country.
The indicators showed better corporate performance
in the first quarter of 2018. KAHRAMAA succeeded overall in sustaining and
providing all State’s sectors needs for electricity and water. The technical
performance of electricity transmission and distribution networks proved that
the networks technical performance indicators maintained their outstanding
level.
The
technical performance indicator of system minutes loss due to electricity
transmission networks recorded a remarkable performance in the first quarter of
2018, with 0.0 minutes compared to 0.04 minutes for the same period of time in
2017. As for the SAIFI -The performance indicator for System Average
Interruption Frequency Indicator improved significantly with an average of 3.88
minutes in Q1, 2018 comparing to 8.10 minutes for Q1 of 2017. Moreover,
regarding potable water quality, the overall quality indicator outstripped
World Health Organization index.,
Customer service indicators also marked a
remarkable improvement at the level of operations and procedures, as the
electricity and water meter inspection and connection indicator showed 5.1 days
comparing with 6 days during Q1, 2017, reflecting KAHRAMAA concern to provide
the best services to its customers.
The first quarter of 2018 saw many achievements
when KAHRAMAA succeeded in passing ISO 9001:2015 quality requirement for all
its departments under one umbrella. Furthermore, the issuance of power outage notices
was stopped and replaced by sms services. The transmission and distribution
networks case monitoring system achieved a cost savings of QR 14.3 million.
About 20 million thermal units of natural gas equivalent to about 200 million
QR were provided during Q1 of, 2018. KAHRAMAA also awarded 43 tenders worth 2
billion QR.
The indicators showed high performance at the
health, safety, and environmental levels, with no injury cases reported during
the first quarter whether for KAHRAMAA employees or its contractors.
Additionally, health campaigns were organized for KAHRAMAA staff during Q1, to
ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
At the end of the meeting, the KAHRAMAA President,
HE Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, expressed his appreciation for the
achievements and considerable progress in the work and projects that the
Corporation realized during the Q1 of 2018, while preserving high performance
indicators. He also praised the efforts of all KAHRAMAA employees who
contributed mainly to the progress that KAHRAMAA is witnessing in various
fields. He also emphasized that KAHRAMAA main concern will always be to look
ahead and ensure the fulfillment of its obligations to efficiently and
effectively provide electricity and water to the State
