Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) marked, on Tuesday 10/1/2017 at KAHRAMAA main building, the achievement of 38,000,000 Safe Man-hours worked without Loss Time Injury (LTI) in phase X of electricity transmission network expansion project.
This significant safety milestone is a clear reflection of KAHRAMAA’s commitment to observe the highest standards of quality, security, and safety at all sites to ensure safe work environment for all.
H.E. Eng. Essa Hilal Al-Kuwari honored the teamwork contributed to this achievement appreciating the efforts of contractors, consultants, and KAHRAMAA staff urging them to exert more efforts to keep this record by adhering to the safety procedures in all projects, facilities and offices as KAHRAMAA’s highest priority. Al-Kuwari stressed that It is a milestone of enormous value, because means to obtain an excellent safety result in a complicated environment, full of difficulties to manage on a daily basis, as the extreme conditions of temperature and humidity, the extraordinary multicultural mix of workers with the consequent communication and coordination problems. There is no room for complacency when it comes to the welfare, well-being, and safety of its workers. The project consists of 7 contractors and 3 consultants with around 3600 employees from 20 different Arabic, Asian, African, and European nationalities.
This safety achievement reflects the size of KAHRAMAA business and projects conducted as per the highest quality and safety standards. It comes within KAHRAMAA commitment to achieve its corporate objective of maintaining safety and health work environment by observing the highest safety standards in all activates and operation, as per its mission of “Providing High Quality and Sustainable Electricity and Water for Better Living in Qatar”.
The project team from KAHRAMAA staff and the contracting companies expressed their pleasure to be part of this achievement and appreciation to KAHRAMAA for its clear and decisive safety commitment.

It is worth to mention that Phase X contracts were awarded in 2012. It is a great addition to Qatar electricity transmission network. It consists of substations, cables, and overhead lines, in addition to consultancy services.
