Core Responsibilities:

• Creates and follows up on water quality modelling implementation in the network and develops long term plans for current and future water quality regulatory issues
• Coordinates externally with State of Qatar Health Officials, International Water Organizations including World Health Organization (WHO), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), American Water Works Association (AWWA), and Water Research Centre (WRC), in order to follow up on new trends and latest available research/ processes in water analysis and quality control
• Coordinates with all the teams of Water Quality Laboratory and provides technical expertise on issues related to adequacy of source water quality and supervises in developing measures for addressing the water quality deficiencies
• Supports in the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance plans for analytical processes used in the Laboratory including quality assurance activities, calibration checks, test method accuracy checks, method validation, uncertainty measurement, and statistical methods of analysis
• Supervises the implementation and monitors water quality control programs, in order to ensure that Kahramaa's water quality is in line with the requirements of State of Qatar, GCC and International standards and guidelines
• Monitors quality control and corrective action activities to ensure compliance with Water Quality Laboratory's quality assurance plan and standard operating procedures
• Provides technical support and coordinate with HSEd to prevent and control hazardous chemical spills in the laboratories, in compliance with all safety measures.
• Provides technical expertise and addresses customers and media queries related to Kahramaa's potable water quality
• Keeps abreast with all related quality legislation and compliance issues in order to ensure conformity for the Water Quality Laboratory Section
• Manages and develops relationships with different internal and external stakeholders and liaises with them as and when required.
• Plans and coordinates the operational and environmental safety of Water Quality Laboratory, in compliance with all relevant standards and legal requirements
• Prepares and reviews all technical reports, relevant to Water Quality Laboratory Section including water quality, quality assurance and standard operating procedures documentation, in a timely manner, as applicable to the role
• Performs other related duties upon Head of Water Quality Lab request as and when required
• Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement section on securing and maintain the ISO / Risk Management / ISMS certification
• Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
  
  Self Management responsibilities:
• Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
• Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
• Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth
