Qatar General Electricity and Water
Corporation (KAHRAMAA) organized a series of health initiatives and campaigns in
cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health (MPH). The campaigns, which
included seasonal flu vaccination and blood donation, aimed to ensure a safe
and healthy working environment and promote effective communication and
cooperation with health authorities in Qatar.
The flu vaccination campaign ran for
three days at various KAHRAMAA locations to ensure the maximum benefit of the campaign
goals and allow as many KAHRAMAA staff as possible to participate. The campaign
activities started from the Corporation's headquarters, Abu-Hamur workshops,
and concluded at KAHRAMAA Awareness Garden.
It basically aimed to provide all
staff members with the vaccination and protection against flu, in a step that emphasis
KAHRAMAA's leading role in applying the best occupational health standards. The
campaign attracted a large turnout
of KAHRAMAA employees, who wanted to protect themselves from infectious
diseases that may lead to hospital treatment and other symptoms.
As part of
its continuous commitment to promote the principles of community
responsibility, KAKRAMAA conducted a blood donation campaign for its employees.
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) supervised the campaign through its mobile
ambulance vehicles and qualified medical and nursing staff. The blood donation
encouraged a large turnout of KAHRAMAA employees, who viewed the campaign as a
noble gesture as it provides life-saving help to others, especially with the
cases of accidents and emergencies.
This campaign
is part of the series of annual activities organized by KAHRAMAA for its
employees to encourage them to engage in community service activities. The
Corporation also seeks to employ modern technology to promote healthy culture
among its employees and acquaint them with the importance of getting involved
in healthy activities throughout the year.
These
campaigns are part of KARAMAA's contributions towards the local community, as
well as awareness-building activities that stress the importance and benefits
of vaccination, self-protection against flu and blood donation. The Public
Relations and Communication Department utilizes different media platforms to
fulfil the Corporation's public awareness promotion objectives.
KAHRAMAA organizes a number
of annual humanitarian and health campaigns and initiatives aimed at promoting
the public health of its employees and stakeholders. These include the World
Day of Health and Safety at Workplace, the blood donation campaign, an employee
awareness campaign about Glaucoma under the theme of "Save Your Sight...
Get Your Eyes Tested". These events stress the importance of applying health
and safety programs and standards at workplace
