The prestigious honors for KAHRAMAA were received by HE Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al- Kuwari, KAHRAMAA’s President by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al- Sada, the Minister of Energy & Industry, State of Qatar during a ceremony organized for launching of 2013 Reports on Sustainability in Qatar Energy and Industry Sector.
The awards which have been conferred upon are Innovation Award for ongoing National Program for Conservation & Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) and best “Strong & Good Quality” sustainability report for first time participation at Ministry of Energy & Industry program for sustainability development. Total 36 organizations participated in sustainability reporting for year 2013.
The event was attended by the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics, HE Saleh Bin Mohamed Al- Nabit, Minister of Environment; HE Ahmad bin Amer al Hemaidi , Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim, Economic Advisor to His Highness the Emir, and Professor Sheikha al Misnad, President of Qatar University and senior functionaries of Energy & Industry sector .
The maiden report was produced by the Conservation & Energy Efficiency department (Tarsheed) of KAHRAMAA with the contributions of all other departments.
During the technical session which was organized at the end of the ceremony, KAHRAMAA’s report was presented as a model of clarity, link between the result & services provided and honest reporting with stakeholders for exhibiting ways and means to improve upon further.
The annual report on sustainability is a key component of the sector sustainability program, which aims to enhance the management of economic, environmental and social impacts within the energy and industry sector, optimizing its contribution to the development of Qatar.
It constitutes a commitment by the sector towards the implementation of economic, human, social, and environmental sustainable development as envisaged in the Qatar National Vision 2030, and the Qatar National Development Strategy 2011-2016.
