KAHRAMAA, DFI sign MoU

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) and Doha Film Institute (DFI) signed a MoU recently aiming cooperation between the two for creating awareness about ongoing National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed). 

 
The MoU was signed by HE Eng. Essa Bin Hilal Al- Kuwari, KAHRAMAA’s President and Mr. Abdul Azeez Al- Khater, DFI’s CEO amongst the presence of senior functionaries of both the organizations.
   
Al-Kuwari said, “The MoU comes within Tarsheed program with the aim to disseminate awareness among all sectors. The film making contest is an incentive for youth and film makers. Their creative entries should support the aim of Tarsheed.” adding that  KAHRAMAA cooperates with all corporations in order to disseminate the culture of electricity and water conservation in order to achieve sustainability of resources.  
 

On his part Mr. Abdul Azeez Al- Khater said, “we, in DFI, are keen to support leading local initiatives.” adding that by signing this MoU, film makers in Qatar will change society conception of electricity and water conservation,” we trust our talents”, he concluded.

 

  The MoU aims at promoting positive values of National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) among residents by involving them into the cause through their creativities visually.

   

 As part of the MoU, DFI invites entries for short film- making contest under the theme of saving electricity and water. The film should be of minimum and maximum one to three minutes durations and all the entries will be directly submitted online at www.dohafilminstitute.com.

  All entries should be original and should not have been copied from any source with high quality video. DFI has the right to use any entry in any form of media for creating awareness on rationalization drive.
 

 The last day of the submission is April 14, 2014.

     

 KAHRAMAA is committed to its responsibility for providing sustainable resources for electricity and water for the benefits of the nation and for improving the quality life for the generations to come in line with QNV 2030 which calls for environmental management and protection aimed at ensuring harmony and consistency with economic and social development.

     

  The National program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) which was launched as a campaign in year 2012 under the patronage of His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al- Thani, is marching towards achieving good result. It has achieved a great progress in terms of electricity and water conservation in 2013.

   
 The prime target of Tarsheed is to reduce the per capita water and electricity consumption in Qatar by 35% & 20%, respectively up to 2017.
