KAHRAMAA Revises Ezab Tariff To Support Livestock Sector

1

Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA" has announced that the Ezab (livestock farms) will be considered as producing farms in calculating electricity and water consumption tariffs, as of February 2020.

This step is as per KAHRAMAA’s national responsibility as a leading state organization to support animal production and encourage ezab owners to invest in livestock, in order to enhance self-sufficiency and food security in the State of Qatar, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

The reduction in the new consumption tariffs for the ezab by classifying them under the category of producing farms amounts to about reduction of 70% for electricity and 40% for water bills as compared to the current tariffs paid under commercial category.

This step is consistent with KAHRAMAA's 2030 long-term strategy based on excellence and sustainability. It also stems from one of KAHRAMAA’s most important values that stresses focusing on the customers by placing them at the heart of the decision-making process to ensure that their needs are continuously met.

KAHRAMAA has completed a project to supply electricity and water to the ezab in various regions of the country to increase their production capacity. This goes in line with KAHRAMAA’s mission in providing sustainable, high-quality electricity and water for a better life in the State of Qatar. It is worth noting that KAHRAMAA covers 90% of the expenses incurred to connect the ezab to the electricity and water grids.
