H.E Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, President of Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA”, has honored the team of Geographic Information System (GIS) at the corporation for being awarded SAG Global Award as a best Corporation in implementing GIS, at the international conference of (ESRI) 2017 organized by Environmental Systems Researches Institution (ESRI) at San Diego, California. 
KAHRAMAA has awarded for its excellence in GIS applications through developing techniques and solutions, implementing best practices, and utilizing latest GIS technology in managing assets and ensuring its accuracy. Moreover, GIS applications have been successfully used in data exchange and integration between GIS and SCADA Program to monitor electricity and water networks, which allow to have a previous analyzing and planning for the network, as well as submitting the GIS data missed through connecting with the various authorities in the State.
 More than 30,000 institutions and authorities from around the world have been participated in this award.  ESRI Institution is the only one in the world that established GIS and awards the most outstanding authorities that attain a great achievement in implementing the system. Only 150 winners from different countries, companies, institutions, ministries and agencies were selected, including KAHRAMAA as the best users of Geographic Information System (GIS).
This award added to KAHRAMAA’s records that has regional and international awards and promotes KAHRAMAA applications of GIS, where it has received before many global awards as a best GIS user. It is also a new achievement in the field of creativity and innovation to develop performance which reflects the corporation’s efforts to attain its vision represented in becoming a global standard of performance and technical innovation in electricity and water sector by 2030.
This honoring comes within constant efforts of KAHRAMAA to support human resource which considers the real wealth must invest and focus on through providing all abilities to achieve KAHRAMAA vision to make our employees performance, assets, systems and procedures international standard for performance, technical innovation, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility in electricity and water sector by 2030.
