Within Tarsheed Program KAHRAMAA holds various activities in Ramadan

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” launched several technical and awareness programs meant to increase energy efficiency and reduce per capita consumption of electricity and water during the month of Ramadan. It comes within Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department activities to achieve Tarsheed objectives.
Tarsheed activities targets all society classes. As for the residential sector, awareness campaigns were launched at mall, markets and streets to educate people of Tarsheed objectives in Ramadan.
Within the mutual cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf, the value of “Tarsheed” is incorporated in religious speeches. A campaign was launched at 1000 mosques to deeply root the value of conservation during ablution and the optimal use of lighting and AC. Posters and stickers are printed in various languages.
For the third straight year, KAHRAMAA has launched “Tarsheed” Ramadan contest under the theme of “it’s so simple” to highlight, in one minute, positive and negative practices in electricity and water consumption. Right answers to be sent via SMS to 92092. The contest provides daily information targets all classes. It is broadcasted via social media platforms, Qatar TV (mainly at 6.30 pm and for more than five times daily) and via KAHRAMAA Youtube channel at 1:30 pm. episodes are also posted via #it_is_so_simple.
As well, KAHRAMAA monitors the enforcement of electricity and conservation law No. 26 / 2008. Tarsheed aims to reduce electricity and water per capita consumption by 20% and 35 % respectively in five years.
